At Wonder Years Learning Center we constantly strive to provide the best quality Child Care and Early Education for children and families. We are committed to providing families with a safe and loving learning environment and to make sure our parents have peace of mind while their child is in our care.
At Wonder Years Learning Center we believe that curriculum begins with each child as an individual with their own unique learning styles and developmental capabilities. Because we value the diversities among children, Wonder Years offers age appropriate activities where a child can learn through active exploration and interaction. We believe children should have fun in a nurturing, age appropriate environment. We encourage an awareness of others and positive peer relationships. It is our primary goal to work with parents to help each child develop the highest sense of self-esteem and strive for independence.

Steven and Sam Nugent
Wonder Years has always been an incredibly important part of Sam’s life. She spent her first five years as a student at Wonder Years, returned to volunteer in the classrooms as a young teenager, and eventually began working at the center (her first and only job). Growing up alongside Wonder Years and watching her parents, Mike and Cheryl, build and operate a successful early childhood center gave Sam an invaluable education long before she ever stepped into a college classroom.
Sam graduated from Rivier University with degrees in Early Childhood Education and Business, combining her passion for working with children with the knowledge needed to help lead and grow the family business.
Steven graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Business Management and has built his career as a Senior Financial Analyst. His business and financial experience brings another valuable perspective to the leadership of Wonder Years.
Derry Center:
Alex and Maggie LaRosa
Alex and Maggie have always shared a passion for working with children and education. They met while attending Salve Regina University, where they were both enrolled in the education program and earned their Bachelor’s Degrees in Elementary Education.
Maggie joined the Wonder Years family in 2015 as the Kindergarten teacher. Through her years at Wonder Years, she has continued to grow within the center and has since become a certified Child Care Administrator.
After graduating from college, Alex began his career as a classroom teacher in Londonderry. He later earned his Master’s Degree in Administration from Southern New Hampshire University, further developing his experience in education and leadership. In 2021, Alex joined Wonder Years full time, bringing his background as both an educator and administrator to the family business.
Together, Sam & Steven and Alex & Maggie are proud and excited to carry on the Wonder Years legacy that Mike and Cheryl began more than 30 years ago. They are committed to honoring the sense of family that Wonder Years was built upon while continuing to grow and strengthen the center for the children, families, and teachers of generations to come.
OUR FOUNDERS:
Mike & Cheryl LaRosa
Mike and Cheryl owned and operated Wonder Years since 1996. It was always a dream for Cheryl to open her own child care center. For 25 years, Mike and Cheryl worked side by side to grow Wonder Years. They always remained committed to providing children with a loving place to learn, grow, and create lasting memories. Keeping the company in the family was always a lifelong vision for them. From the very beginning, Mike and Cheryl dreamed that Wonder Years would remain a family business for generations to come. In 2021, that lifelong vision became a reality when they passed the company on to their children, Alex and Sam.
Although the next generation has taken the lead, the heart of Wonder Years will always be rooted in the foundation Mike and Cheryl created, a place where wonderful beginnings truly do last a lifetime.
